Submerged Universe

Visual and verbal universe of the new temporary exhibition at Oceanário de Lisboa.

The Oceanário developed a fully sensory new exhibition set in an environment that shifts between the celestial, the depths of the ocean, and the realm of imagination. AEQUIPA joined this journey by creating its name and the entire communication concept.

SUBMERGED UNIVERSE

This is the name we arrived at. One that seeks to highlight the parallel between the known and the unknown, a symmetry yet to be explored. The name draws from the hypnotic visuals of the experience itself, where luminous elements evoke stars and constellations, creating a cosmic and mysterious tone. At the same time, it alludes to an infinite, undiscovered world — as the ocean is, in itself, a universe waiting to be explored.

UNIVERSO SUBMERSO

Also takes us into the more unsettling depths of the ocean — far beyond human reach — carrying with it a sense of mysticism and a more enigmatic, provocative identity.

SUBMERGED UNIVERSE

Beyond the phonetic appeal of the rhyme between the two words, there's also a play on the term “submerged” and the idea of an immersive experience. This naming became the starting point for the identity of an experience designed to be captivating, absorbing, and truly fascinating.
